Ryan concurrently serves as a board member and a Past President of the Association of Louisiana Lobbyists, the sole governmental relations association in the state. In 2023, he was bestowed the title of Lieutenant in the Mystick Krewe of Louisianians (Washington Mardi Gras) and received annual recognition in the Business Report as one of the top 500 powerful influencers in the Capital Region, and was named to the Baton Rouge 40 Under 40 at the age of 29.
As the second generation of leadership at Haynie & Associates, Ryan's tenure with the firm commenced immediately upon graduating high school in 2003, when he started as a runner. While pursuing his undergraduate degree at LSU, he was named President of the Alpha Gamma Chapter of Kappa Alpha Fraternity and contributed to the Interfraternity Council. After earning his bachelor's in political science in 2007, he registered as a lobbyist and began learning under his father, viewed by many as the most influential and hardest working lobbyist in Louisiana's history. Ryan's early political experience also encompasses internships with LA Congressmen Charles Boustany and Rodney Alexander.
Furthering his father's legacy, Ryan concurrently serves as Vice President of Capitol View Development and Louisiana Trading Company, which oversees the family's real estate, art, and antiquities portfolio. His personal endeavors mirror his professional dedication and Catholic faith values. Committed to philanthropy and community service, Ryan is the co-chair of the Haynie Family Foundation, along with his sister, which is known for supporting charitable organizations and causes across Louisiana. His efforts reach deeply into the philanthropic world, currently serving on the boards of the American Red Cross Capitol West (past chair), The Parole Project (8 years), Boys & Girls Clubs in Louisiana (7 years), Youth Legislature of Louisiana (1 year), City Year (3 years), and a term on the Gubernatorial-appointed Volunteer Louisiana Commission (6 years), which oversees the state's AmeriCorps board and volunteer disaster response nexus.
Ryan's journey alongside his wife, Alana Robert Haynie, began in 2012. Residing in Baton Rouge with their 12-year-old daughter and 7-year-old son, they attend Our Lady of Mercy Church and are active at their children's schools, St. James and Episcopal. Together, Ryan and Alana play an integral role on host committees for a range of philanthropic entities such as Court Watch NOLA, Ducks Unlimited, Baton Rouge General Hospital, Franciscan Missionary of Louisiana Health System, Wildlife and Fisheries Foundation, Knock Knock Children's Museum, the Ogden Museum, the Louisiana Endowment for the Humanities, City Year Baton Rouge, Our Lady of Mercy Foundation, FMOL Children's Hospital, Red Cross Service to the Armed Forces, St. James School, Episcopal School of Baton Rouge, and the Louisiana Arts & Sciences Museum, among others. Beyond his professional and philanthropic roles, Ryan is also an enthusiastic hunter and sportsman, holding ownership shares in the prestigious Winn Hawkins Oak Grove Hunting Club in southern Cameron Parish as well as No Le Hace hunting club in the San Fernando Valley of Mexico.
